A Boeing 737-200 departing Jose Martí International Airport on 18/05/2018 crashed shortly after departure, killing 113 people on board including all six crew members. The plane was rented by a Cuban State Carrier, Cubana de Aviacion, who have a history of leasing old aircrafts and initial reports show the Boeing aircraft was 38 years old, having been previously leased by numerous airlines since the late 1970s.
