A group of passengers have sued American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) after their plane caught fire on Oct. 28. The fire occurred right before the flight was set to take off from Chicago O’Hare airport to Miami. American Airline spokesperson Leslie Scott said the fire was caused by an engine-related mechanical issue. The passengers are also suing Boeing Co. (BA), which built the plane, and General Electric Co. (GE), which manufactured the engine.
