According to specialist experts in aviation investigation, the cause of the catastrophic crash of Jeju Flight 2216 at Muan International Airport on 29 December 2024 would most likely be attributed to several contributing factors. According to a leading US plaintiff attorney, Floyd Wisner, the most likely causes of the accident will come down to the operation of the aeroplane, design and/or performance factors of the aircraft and potential design issues associated with the airport at Muan.
“It is likely that we won’t know the answer to the cause question for some time, in fact many months or possibly even longer” he said.
“These things don’t just happen, things have gone wrong here and the families deserve answers.”
“These are international cases covered by an international treaty and in this case there is a strong possibility that the event will be subject to litigation in the jurisdiction of the United State,” Wisner said.
“However, despite the families wanting answers to the reasons their loved ones have been tragically killed in this incident they need to exercise patience as the regulatory and private investigators establish the cause or causes so that the responsible parties can be held to account” he said.
“There will be pressure on families to accept financial settlements from the airlines, insurance companies and other potential defendants, but they should resist those overtures until they have comprehensive legal advice from qualified practitioners.”
“This is not about money – it’s about knowing the comprehensive truth of the cause or causes and then being involved in actions that will see that tragedies like this one won’t be repeated in the future.”
“We are consulting experts in various aviation fields to monitor ongoing investigations so as to establish the best course of action for the estates of these victims.”
Unless it is ignored, time is not the enemy here.
